ACTIVATE
your brain to think about Ethics and Bias in Healthcare. How and why does the
brain form unconscious or implicit biases? How are ethics and biases related?
This program explores common implicit biases, the ways they affect clinical
decision-making, and how you can mitigate biases. Multiple examples with case
vignettes will be part of this interactive session.
OBJECTIVES
Following
this session, participants will be able to:
- explain why it is normal for the brain to form biases.
- detail the major types of biases in healthcare and their relationship to healthcare ethics.
- identify strategies to decrease biases in healthcare.
