A.C.T.I.V.A.T.E. Well-being: Eight Steps to Elicit Positive Change in Yourself and Your Clients | Renee Harrington & Suzanne Williams

ABSTRACT
Health and wellness are important to maintain for a lifetime. In this interactive session, we will discuss the A.C.T.I.V.A.T.E. action steps one can implement for themselves and in coaching sessions to improve overall health and wellness. Participants will leave with an understanding of how to coach individuals in implementing lasting changes. During the session, they will also have an opportunity to develop their own plan with actionable steps to move toward improved wellness.

OBJECTIVES
Following this session, participants will be able to:

  1. explain difficulties that are common in achieving wellness and actionable steps to overcome these obstacles.
  2. describe and implement coaching strategies to motivate and guide clients toward change.
  3. design a personalized program implementing the A.C.T.I.V.A.T.E. steps to achieve health and wellness.

NOTE: "Registration" for individual sessions is not required. Once onsite, you may attend any sessions on the day(s) for which you are registered.

    Dr. Renee Harrington is an Assistant Teaching Professor in NC State University’s Department of Health and Exercise Studies, an E-RYT 500-level yoga instructor and teacher trainer, and competitive athlete on Team USA. Renee blends her knowledge of physiology, nutrition, and biomechanical principals with personal experience to provide valuable information and practical tips for health and wellness with a focus on various facets including stress management, nutrition, and metabolic aspects of physical activity.

  • Suzanne Williams, MA

    Former International and collegiate athlete with teaching and coaching experience at all levels. Enjoys a diverse public speaking platform, as well as pioneering and developing fitness programs which educate and motivate; passionate about cultivating healthy, active lifestyles with an emphasis on well-being and lifelong fitness. Currently a lecturer at North Carolina State University in the Department of Health and Exercise Studies and the Advisor for the Coaching Education Minor Program, mentoring aspiring coaches.
