Empowering Health Care With AI: ChatGPT as Your Coaching Ally | Ashley Miller


In today's health care landscape, professionals often oscillate between roles of "thinkings" and "doings", sometimes sidelining our inherent nature as human beings. This presentation delves into the potential of coaching and artificial intelligence (AI), particularly ChatGPT. By leveraging AI, we can adeptly navigate complex tasks, allowing us to emphasize genuine human interactions. Participants will acquire a nuanced understanding of ethically integrating AI tools, ensuring they resonate with the ethics of the coaching profession.

Following this session, participants will be able to:

  1. explain the importance of understanding the capabilities of AI as a tool for supporting coaches/healthcare professionals.
  2. identify the challenges that make defining artificial intelligence and human coaching difficult.
  3. assess how to adopt and ethically use AI as a coaching community.

    1. Ashley R. Miller is a health leader working at the intersection of coaching, healthcare, and information technology. With over 15 years of experience in health and wellness, she has served as a fitness instructor, coach, and wellness manager. Ashley explored the role artificial intelligence (AI) plays in driving innovation in coaching during her tenure with Fitbit Health Solutions and Google. She focused on integrating strengths-based digital communication practices and minimizing coach burnout through AI-supported Learning Language Models (LLM) and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Recently, she worked on a mission to optimize health for all at a startup, utilizing generative AI to improve outcomes and enhance member capabilities. Ashley earned her Master’s in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through ICF, a Certified Health Education Specialist thought NCHEC, and a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach through NBHWC.
